The Kandinsky Effect was formed in 2007. They are a modern jazz ensemble; both powerful and sensitive within their own unique sound. The Kandinsky Effect is constantly searching for new ways to improvise within the jazz idiom. The group can be found lurking along the borders of jazz, rock, electronica, hip-hop, and experimental sounds in its quest for freedom of expression. Tenor saxophone, electronics, double bass, and drums play subtly with sounds, colors, rhythms and forms to create a rich and original musical world which mixes personal compositions with covers from their individual influences.
“The young Paris “-based trio, The Kandinsky Effect, led by American-born saxophonist Warren Walker offers an invigorating take on modern jazz and improvisation.”

“What do you get when you combine an American saxophonist, a self-proclaimed “total gringo” bassist and a French drummer, playing progressive jazz in Europe? There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. But The Kandinsky Effect, sure as heck blow the roof off the joint trying to figure it out for themselves.”

“The group definitely has developed an individual style and produces a sound larger than their size would suggest.”
